Seychelles is a great diving destination for all ranges of diving
abilities, from absolute beginners to advanced open-water night

Families
We all know the problems, hormonal teenage tantrums, “I’m not
sleeping in the same room as him (or her)”, “where have you been till
this hour?” and so on. We do not claim that the Seychelles is the
perfect antidote, but from our experience talking with our clients who
have visited the Seychelles “en famille”, is that by the time the kids
have swam, snorkelled, cycled, climbed, walked, sailed, collected
coconuts, fished, there is very little energy left at the end of the
day to do anything but wind down, relax and sleep. Talk to our
experienced staff at Seychelles Travel – they will put your mind at
rest. |

Flora
Rich in endemic species, Seychelles proudly boasts the largest seed in the world – Coco de Mer (lodoicea maldivica) weighing up to 20kg each, Wright’s Gardenia (rothmannia annae) Wild Vanilla, the Seychelles Pitcher Plant (nepenthes pervillei) Jellyfish Tree (medusagyne oppositifolia) and Seychelles Pandanus to name a few. |

Fly-fishing
Be it from the beach, in the surf, from a boat or from a skiff on the
St Francois lagoon, Seychelles offers the fly-fisherman the thrill of
top-class fly-fishing. Consider a week on Desroches or Alphonse Island or just a casual flirtation with Trevally on Denis Island. |
| |
Game Fishing
Blessed with abundant sea life, rich in game fish, the Seychelles
remains the mecca for exciting game fishing. Regular fishing
competitions are held throughout the year. Head for Denis, Bird or
Desroches islands for the best bag. Talk to Seychelles Travel about the
best time and the best locations. Catch & release is practised on
most boats. |

Golf
Lemuria Resort of Praslin has a superb 18 hole Par 70 Golf course offering a great challenge to both amateurs and professional alike. On
your way round, the course provides exotic vistas of Petite &
Grande Anse Kerlan and the famous Anse Georgette.

magnum of champagne to their clients playing the course at par.
On

Gyms and all things Physical
Seychelles have a number of hotels with gym and fitness
facilities. Please contact Seychelles Travel for details +44 (0)1202 877330. If you enjoy
jogging and fancy running a marathon, there is the annual race to
consider. A member of our staff has completed two marathons for
charities and for the record is still just alive to prove the point.
Apparently it was hard and gruelling but a great story to regale over
dinner. |

Horse Riding
Ride alongside white sand beaches, tropical forests, cinnamon
plantations. Seychelles now boasts a horse riding establishment.
Located on West Mahe, the Arab bred horses and ponies are available for
adults and children with qualified instructors for beginners. Rides
range from one hour to half day excursions. Contact our riding
specialist at Seychelles Travel +44 (0)1202 877330. |

Victoria Museum
It is well worth a visit to the National Museum located in Victoria,
near the main post office. Originally known as the Carnegie library,
the entrance is guarded by two original Portugese cannons.
Original documents listing slave arrivals on the islands, numerous
exhibits of indigenous flora and fauna can be seen here. |

Restaurants
Good local (Creole) food can be obtained on all the main three islands
of Mahe, Praslin La Digue. Most are open for lunch and evening dinner
although it is always wise to pre-book as they do tend to become rather
busy. Creole food is a wonderful blend of African, Arabian and Indian
recipes that have simmered and evolved over the years with local
specialities such as millionaires salad, home produced cinnamon,
papaya, pineapples, breadfruit and mangoes to name a few.
On
Mahe try La Scala, Chez Plume, The Boathouse, Anse Soleil Beach CafÈ
and Marie Antoinette. On Praslin we suggest Bon Bon Plume, Cafe des
Arts, Laurier and Indian Ocean Lodge. On La Digue try Chateau St Cloud,
Kot Babi, Patatran and L’Ocean.
Request our Creole recipes on you return from Seychelles. |

Sailing
Champagne sailing goes some of the way to sum up a yachting experience
in the Seychelles. Blessed by a favourable weather system (no
cyclones or hurricanes), warm, clear seas, a low tidal range and
most importantly, short distances between the islands all contribute
towards an ideal destination for sailing and cruising.
Charter
a yacht for a day, a week or a month, with or without a skipper or
cruise with other like-minded souls on board Sea Star or Charming Lady.
