A
delightful 15 minute helicopter flight transfers you to North Island,
renowned as being the leading Seychelles unique 'Robinson Crusoe'
barefoot luxury island.
The style
of the island and
villas was created by the achitectural team of Silvio Rech and Lesley
Carstens, whose ethos was based around the extensive use of local
materials such as quirky upside down takamaka trees, roughly hewn stone and
rocks, blended into an island concept that is at one with the
surrounding environment, but at the same time using modern facilities
and equipment to provide what one would expect from a full five star
luxury resort. Without any doubt North Island have succeeded
in producing a true 'barefoot luxury' island experience, second to none.
Measuring
roughly 5 km by 1.8K and an area of 210 hectares, North Island boasts
fabulous white sand private beaches for guests to roam and explore
(motorised buggy provided), 11 private luxurious accommodation villas,
each with their own villa attendant, a totally flexible in-villa and
restaurant dining arrangement with food to die for, superb water sport
and spa facilities plus a management team on hand 24 hours of the
day to care for you.
Beautifully
handcrafted from local timber, stone, glass and ylang-ylang with a
ground floor area of 450sq metres, each villa is private and self
contained. A luxurious well proportioned air conditioned bedroom with a
king size hand-carved sumptous bed, a dressing area leading on to the
en-suite bathroom with marble bath, outside shower with pebble strung
privacy curtains. Adjoining the bedroom is the semi-open teak floored
living area with panoramic views out to sea. Next to the
plunge pool is an enclosed sala for gentle relaxation in the shade.
Your private sanctuary within a sanctuary. There is also a second
room which can be used either as a study or additional bedroom
accommodation with outside shower.
A
separate mini-kitchen allows for clients to have their meals prepared
by their villa master in their villa. Alternatively, stroll along to
the main dining area set against a huge granite rock. North
Island menus are defined daily when the chef disucsses with the guest
their particular requirements.
Full butler service caters for your needs
including in-villa meals, or champagne picnics on a secluded beach. Take your
buggy or bicycle to the West beach through the wonderful glades and pathways and
enjoy a cooling drink and barbecued snack at the Sunset Bar.
The
main pavilion area (Piazza) of the island has a superb dining room, bar
area, library and gym. The health spa, offering a range of beauty
treatments, is located on a granite outcrop with beautiful views over
the surrounding ocean. However, in-room treatments are also available
within your Villa. A free-form swimming pool looks back upon a
kilometre of beach and is located a short walk from the public area.
North Island is
a carefully preserved nature sanctuary supporting a range of endangered species
of flora and fauna. The resident ecologists will be delighted to show off their
research centre as well as the nature walks around the island. Complimantary
activities inlcude scuba diving courses, snorkelling in and around the
island, sea kayaking, mountain bikes, internet connections, island
buggy, gymnasium. Luxury
