A narrow
path fringed with lush vegetation seperates this delightful property
from the glorious Côte d’Or Beach, acknowledged as one of the best in
Seychelles for swimming, strolling and generally watching the world go by. For
the inquisitive and active, there is a varied selection of water
sports and boat excursions on offer. Very popular are the trips to the
small island just offshore, Ste Pierre, a snorkeller's delight or the
larger island of Curieuse, famous for the giant tortoise breeding
programmes.
Within
a lovingly tended garden, courtesy of Robert, the owner-manager, there
is well-stocked ornamental fish pond and tropical orchid displays. Le
Duc
offers good quality, medium priced accommodation ranging from standard rooms to family suites (see
accommodation details below). The newly constructed Superior rooms and
Suites are generously spacious with furnishings in locally crafted
materials, the rooms providing an elegant Creole ambience within a
relaxed atmosphere. Honeymooners and Anniversary couples are well
catered for in the spacious honeymoon suites.
The
hotel main restaurant serves delicious local cuisine whilst the
Cafe des Arts restaurant provides dining alongside the beautiful Cote
D'or beach. The swimming pool adds to the attraction of the hotel as
does the poolside jacuzzi.
Evening time is a great opportunity to wander off along the beach
before dinner to experience a tropical evening. Towards Ste Pierre and
Chauve Souris island you will see the dramatic fruit bats settling
down for the night within the mango trees. A little further will bring
you to a few beachside restaurants and at the far end of the bay, the
Tanta Mimi Casino and restaurant.
