A well-equipped open plan kitchen and dining room ensures that guests have everythang at hand to produce your own meals.  To assist with purchasing provisions, the owners offer to accompany guests on a first shopping trip to Mahe to become familiar with the local shops and markets.  However, self-catering guests do receive a starter pack on arrival to get started. There are no shops on Cerf Island, but the Fairy Tern owners do stock some basic  groceries. Complimentary boat transfers to and from Cerf Island are provided at regular hours, although non-scheduled transfers are also available at a charge of €15 per person each way.

Although offered as self-catering accommodation, guests may use the full facilities of nearby L'Habitation hotel. These include breakfast and evening dinner and subject to availability, the  use of the swimming pool, bar, snorkelling equipment, pedaloe and canoes.

Cerf Island is within the Marine National Park and is an excellent snorkelling area. Fishing within this area is not permitted, although the owners can arrange fishing trips, marine park tours and car hire on Mahe.
